Most people nowadays thinks that personal blogs are dead. And they're thinking that because major web browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox has killed their RSS features long time ago. You can read more below.

But in reality personal blogs are still there. But it's just hard to find them.
There are plenty of reasons for that. And the biggest reason is, major search engines like Google will not show them to people unless you do your search in a very specific keyword.
Like this website. Unless you search for the term "The Batuhan's Blog" Google won't gonna consider showing this website to you. And this is not just on my website. Any personal blogsite that's not big enough will suffer from this.
But besides some reasons on top, people still write on their personal websites and they still got some reads from people in similar minds. And this happens thanks to Internet Forums like Hacker News.
But forum sites aren't the only place for finding sites online. There are plenty of other places around web to find blogs in various topics from various people. So here is my ways for finding blogs online.
1-) Bearblog's discover page
For those who don't know. Bearblog is a free and open-source platform for people to share their ideas and most bloggers I follow do use that platform to publish their content.
And it has great features for both it's writers and readers but most important feature for us is it's /discover page. In this page you can see trending or the newest posts from various writers.
And with bearblog's RSS feeds support, you can easly discover new writers and follow them from your favourite RSS feed reader.
2 -) blogroll.org
blogroll.org is a platform that contains personal blogs around the world in various different categories. All these blogs here are shorted by hand and no algorithms are in place.
And with it's simple design, you can easly find blogs that takes your interest in almost any topic.
I'm also trying to get my blog here when they turn registirations back open hopefully.
3 -) /blogroll pages
Most bloggers do follow other bloggers and sometimes they list those blogs on /blogroll
page. Just like my blogroll page. So when you discover others blogs, don't forget to check for their /blogroll
page to find others blogs.
So this how I find others online. There are plenty of places to find people like forums, Fediverse and etc. But I didn't mentioned them becouse forums generally do focus on only one topic and sometimes reading same stuff over and over and over can get boring.
Hopefully this post helps you, as always see you in the next one!
