When Evernote has brought up by Bending Spoons back in November of 2022. An open source alternative called Notesnook has became popular.
But at that time, I didn't knew it and I was already on Obsidian which I still use today.
After I made my switch, I discovered the Notesnook and wanted to give it a shot, but at those times I was already busy enough and didn't wanted to make another switch to another platform and spend my time with reorganizing stuff.
My switch to Obisidan was approximately around April of 2023. A year later at May of 2024, I wanted to give Notesnook a shot and created my account.
At the beginning everything went well, it's design similarities with the old Evernote was felt like home and I never had any problems with it. But at that time, my main use case for Notesnook was to take quick notes, reminders or share notes with other people.
At the June of 2024, due to my job I started to use Notesnook as my only note taking application and brought their yearly subscription, thinking that I would made complete switch from Obsidian.
But I always loved the plugin ecosystem of the Obsidian and at those times, I kept using it for things like project planning, writing my blogs and syncing my notes with Nextcloud.
After I quit my job at August of 2024, I had no reason left for me to use Notesnook over Obsidian. And I made my switch back to Obsidian.
Notesnook is a great application, and I really want to thank all the developers who put their work on it for their awesome product. I had enjoyed every second of using it and never had any problems. I can easily recommend it to anyone who looks out for a good note taking application.
But as I said before, I already made my switch to Obsidian by integrating it with my Nextcloud based ecosystem and I have no reason left to use Notesnook.
