Don't let AI to replace you

AI this, AI that, AI did, AI does, etc… I really had enough of those sentences. Because 90% of the time, it ends with the same idea of taking humans jobs. And it always comes from the Twitter tech bros that have no idea how things work.

And as a person who majors in EEE and a web developer, I'm completely against this. Because we're not living in the perfect world.

Even though AI is capable of doing almost everything you need, it won't replace you because the thing you call AI is just a cluster of computers. And computers still don't have the most important skill a human has.

The imagination, creativity and thinking.

When God created us, it gave us the ability to imagine stuff. Without it we wouldn't be any different than a gorilla, and the world would still be in a prehistoric era.

We used our imagination to hunt down animals, collect food from nature, and determine what's good to eat. Then we started farming using our imagination, and instead of hunting, we began to raise animals ourselves.

I think you got my idea; we started with nothing and used our imaginations through thousands of years to come this way.

And AI can't imagine, create, or think like we do. Its output is only limited to its training data. For example, if you don't teach it to do a simple task, like basic math, it can't figure it out on its own.

Just like the steam machines of the Industrial Revolution, AI is there to reduce the energy needed for work, not take over it. And right now the best way to prevent getting replaced by AI is adapting it to your own workflow.

Sadly there are no escape from AI, but with the right use it can allow us to achieve things beyond our imagination.
