Have you ever had times when your brain refused to shut up? I had too many of those times. And it was one of my reasons to start this blog. Which I'm going to talk about in a later post.

I'm a person who was diagnosed with ADHD 15 years ago when I was 6. And because of that, they made me use too many pills during my education from elementary school to high school.

And because of those pills, I always felt dumb. Seriously.

Because of those pills that doctors used to give me, I wasn't even thinking. My brain was just programmed to learn, learn, learn, and do whatever my teachers say. But never think.

In 2023, I quit those pills and school. I was 17 at that time, and it was the time that I discovered the true capacity of my brain.

My brain works differently than any other person's I've ever met with. The difference is, it always keeps thinking 10 different things at the same time.

Half of those thoughts are about things I'm working on at that time, and the other half are just meaningless junk. And it's always been like that. No matter what I do. And the best part is, I never know where that one life-changing thought will come to me. It could be anywhere from a toilet seat to the middle of a class.

It was always too loud inside my brain, and that was really exhausting. Because it literally prevents me from focusing anything. And without a proper focus, it was impossible to finish anything.

One evening, I sat down against the sunset and told myself that "life can't go like that". That night, I made my research on it and found to many solutions for people with ADHD like me. And the most effective one was dumping my brain.

Every night, I sit down in front of my note-taking app, create a new note, and just write whatever comes to my mind. On average this only takes about 10 to 15 minutes, but sometimes it could take around 1 hour depending on how busy I was that day.

And it really helps me a lot. Since I began brain dumping, my productivity has jumped significantly. I was able to organize my time, get things done, and start a new day with an empty brain.

Because before doing that, my thoughts had nowhere to go. But now they just slide down from my brain to my daily notes, and this allows my brain to focus on one thing at a time. Because all other things are already offloaded from it.

This is why I'm telling you to dump your brain. Dumping your brain is like cleaning space on your computer. By dumping your thoughts, you're cleaning space in your mind, and that clean space allows you to focus better, think better, and learn better.

I hope this post helps you out! If you have a never ending noise in your brain, give it a shot and see the difference yourself. And if you want to discuss this, I'm always open for e-mails and replies on Mastodon.

See you in the next one!
