2 weeks ago, when Robert Birming wrote Why Write, I wrote my own reasons to write in my post Why I write? and after that this got a lot of attention and we started a trend. I read all posts has been written and I must say I really liked all of them. So thanks a lot to Robert Birming and all the fellow bloggers for their content!
So let's stay in the topic and let me talk about how I create my posts.
1. Collecting ideas
When I sit in front of my computer with a blank Obsidian note, I first take a look at my old notes and then surf at the internet. Which mostly Mastodon because all the bloggers I currently follow is there. And start writing about ideas on that blank note.
After filling up that note, I reread everything I write and decide about what should I post. That could be a simple post like Why I write? or a long tutorial like How I deploy NextJS with Systemd and Nginx.
2. Inspiration and Writing
After deciding about what I'm gonna write, I take a look on my old posts, including archived ones and after making sure I didn't wrote that before, I start writing.
But before writing I get ready some coffee, lo-fi or Jazz music and a clean desk space for me to catch the instant inspiration. And when I catch it, I start to write everything from scratch.
I generally spend around 5 mins to 30 mins for writing. But sometimes some tutorials takes like 2 hours or even 3 hours to write because while writing those posts, I actually repeat the steps on a virtual machine to make sure stuff I wrote works as expected.
3. Publishing
After I finish writing that post, I read everything I wrote from beginning. I'm doing this to make sure that my post doesn't includes any typos or missing parts. And most importantly it's readable. I just log-in to my server and publish it.
And of course I share it on every place I can from Mastodon to Discord.
And that was my blogging workflow, it's just simple and works for me. Thanks again to Robert Birming for coming up with this idea!
